Searching the Hampton Court Docket
Hampton gives you three workable channels for court records. Start with the court named on your paperwork. The Search ARCourts portal finds participating cases and lists CALHOUN CIRCUIT as a circuit location. It offers no Calhoun district location. So an empty result there tells you nothing about whether a Hampton City Cases or County Cases record exists.
- Copy the case or citation number exactly, including all punctuation.
- For a circuit filing, select Cases, choose Calhoun County, and use CALHOUN CIRCUIT as the location.
- For a ticket, identify City Cases or County Cases from the citation and issuing authority.
- Open any result and compare the parties, type, filing date, judge, entries, and future events.
- Call the matching Hampton clerk when no district result appears or when the newest date needs confirmation.
You can also search by participant. Enter a first and last name, or an organization and case description. Typing three or more name characters may pull partial matches. When the results come back too broad, filter by date, case type, county, and court location. Keep narrowing until the right docket entry surfaces.
Three Hampton Clerk Phone Lines
Calling about a Hampton docket can confuse people, because the city has three clerk numbers. Circuit Clerk Jeanie Smith keeps circuit records at 870-798-2517. Chief Clerk Laura Evans handles District Court City Cases at 870-798-2753. For District Court County Cases, Chief Clerk Scilar Ray answers at 870-798-2165. These offices are separate custodians. The district divisions do share Judge Tom Wynne. Both official listings also say Hampton.

Before you drive over, ask the office to confirm the counter location, room, hours, holiday schedule, and copy cutoff. The clerk's official directory does not publish those details.
Hampton Municipal Court Basics
Arkansas Judiciary offers no stand-alone Hampton municipal court portal. Its District Court directory instead lists Calhoun County District Court City Cases and County Cases in Hampton. City Cases handles city ordinances, traffic, misdemeanors, and assigned limited civil work. County Cases takes county traffic and misdemeanors. It also takes preliminary felony matters, small claims, and assigned lower civil work. The dividing line matters more than where the incident happened. Read the court and issuing authority printed on the document. A Hampton address alone does not make a ticket a City Cases filing. If the paperwork is unclear, call one division. Ask for routing instead of sending requests to both.
Hampton Docket Hub by Scale
The official 2020 incorporated-place table counts 1,181 Hampton residents. That makes Hampton the Calhoun County seat and the only listed district-court hub for city cases.
The town's size explains why nearby communities route their court questions to Hampton rather than to a web of separate city portals. It does not merge the files. Every filing still belongs to its own court and custodian.
Court Dates and Settings in Hampton
Hampton publishes no standalone official calendar. For a participating case, Search ARCourts posts upcoming activity under Future Events. Check the newest Docket Entries too. A continuance, reset, amended order, or cancellation can appear there. That may happen after the first notice went out. Then call the clerk who took the filing. That office knows which division or court contact holds the live schedule.
| Date | The latest future event or verified court notice, not an old entry. |
|---|---|
| Time | The court's listed call or individual setting time. |
| Location | The current physical court location confirmed before travel. |
| Judge | The assigned judicial official shown for the event or case. |
| Setting Type | Arraignment, pretrial, motion hearing, docket call, plea, trial, or another court label. |
Hampton offers no general remote-hearing link. Ask whether your specific matter allows an in-person or remote appearance. Keep in mind that a reset is not a dismissal, and an older date can linger in the record as history.
Hampton's Historic Docket Setting
The Hampton courthouse also anchors a surprisingly deep paper trail. Arkansas Heritage says the present building went up in 1909. It came with a tall clock tower, pressed-tin ceilings, and wooden courtroom risers. County records survive from 1850 forward. A span that long matters. Older Hampton court dockets may live in bound books, loose paper, microfilm, or archived holdings rather than Search ARCourts. For a historic or genealogical request, give the Circuit Clerk a name, an approximate year, the case type, and any index reference. Ask whether the volume is still in Hampton and whether fragile pages can be copied. An empty digital result never proves an old case did not exist.
Traffic Tickets in Hampton
A Hampton ticket lookup starts with the court printed on the citation. City-issued matters may route to City Cases, while county-issued ones go to County Cases. The current Arkansas eTraffic list leaves out Calhoun and Hampton. The city has no standalone payment portal. Call the filing clerk for the amount, deadline, payee, accepted payment method, and contest process. Paying through a participating state workflow can count as an admission. It can also waive appearance and trial. Never take that route if you plan to contest the ticket. No Hampton-specific deferred disposition, course option, eligibility rule, or fee appears in official publications. The county-wide Calhoun County Traffic Tickets page separates the local court record from the state driving record.
Missed setting: contact the named Hampton filing court at once. A warrant, license action, or added costs may require direct court resolution.
Hampton Portal Versus Clerk
Think of Search ARCourts as Hampton's free discovery layer for participating filings. It can show parties, judges, and Docket Entries. The portal also lists charges, dispositions, Future Events, judgments, and selected public documents. What it does not promise is every document image or every Hampton district case. Need a complete file, a certified disposition, or a date that changed after the portal view? The Hampton filing clerk remains the source.
| Hampton record need | Best first channel |
|---|---|
| Hampton CALHOUN CIRCUIT discovery | Search ARCourts, then Circuit Clerk |
| Hampton city ticket or ordinance case | City Cases clerk |
| Hampton county-issued lower matter | County Cases clerk |
| Hampton certified copy | Clerk that filed the case |
| Hampton portal operation help | AOC support, not case-specific advice |
A small public document icon on a Hampton entry means a case image is viewable there. When the icon is absent, the filing still sits in the Hampton clerk's case file; it simply lacks a public image.
Hampton Records Beyond City Court
Federal court sits outside the Hampton and Calhoun County state system entirely, and some Hampton disputes land there instead. The Western District's El Dorado location serves as the federal venue closest to Calhoun County.

That federal courthouse will not have Hampton City Cases or County Cases dockets; the state district clerks keep those. Bankruptcy runs on its own system too, through the official Arkansas bankruptcy court docket.

The bankruptcy image marks another distinct federal channel, not a Hampton municipal lookup.
Where Hampton Cases Go
Where a Hampton case starts depends on its type. Lower offenses and assigned limited civil matters go to the proper Hampton district division. Other matters head up a level. Felonies, general civil suits, domestic-relations, juvenile, and probate cases belong to Calhoun County Circuit Court instead. When a district case is appealed, a second record opens in circuit court. So track both the lower case number and the later circuit number.
Docket flow: Hampton City Cases or County Cases › Calhoun County Circuit Court › Arkansas appellate courts
The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals sits in the federal chain, far above the state route a Hampton case follows.

That federal appeals track is easy to confuse with a Hampton district appeal, which simply climbs one rung to the state Circuit Court.
Hampton Federal Case Boundaries
The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas is a federal prosecution office.

Cases filed there are never Hampton City Cases. A local traffic ticket, ordinance violation, or lower misdemeanor lives with the Hampton district clerks, while federal docket research demands federal court systems. Mixing them up is the most common search error. Typing a Hampton citation number into a federal source will not conjure a result, because that number does not exist there. Classify the court first. Then go to the clerk who actually holds that system's records.
Hampton Court Record Access Rules
Arkansas Supreme Court Administrative Order 19 sets the main framework for court-record access. It bars the public from protected information and confidential categories. The Arkansas Freedom of Information Act covers public records broadly, but court case access still runs through court authority and AO19.
Access boundaries: juvenile files, sealed records, protected family matters, personal identifiers, and court-restricted material may be hidden or unavailable. An online gap alone proves none of those conditions.
To see a public Hampton record, ask the filing clerk. Request inspection, a mailed copy quote, or certification. Give the case number, court, and entry date. Add the document description, copy type, and how you want it delivered. No local copy fee or turnaround was published, so get a quote before mailing money. Some older or unconverted records may still need an offline search by staff.
Hampton Certified Docket Requests
A Hampton public search and a Hampton certified record answer different questions. Search ARCourts helps you spot the Hampton case, its entry dates, and selected public documents. But only the Hampton filing clerk holds the original court file. Only that clerk can attest that a copy is true. Contact Laura Evans for Hampton City Cases. Sciliar Ray handles Hampton County Cases, and Jeanie Smith handles a Hampton circuit matter. Work out the Hampton request before you call or mail anything. List the exact case or citation number, the caption or cited name, and the Hampton court division. Include the entry date, a description of the document, and your plain or certified choice. Add the copy count, return address, and phone number. Ask the clerk for the current per-page charge, certification cost, and payee. Also ask about accepted payment form, postage, and completion time. No Hampton amount or turnaround was published, so let a clerk quote replace every guess. Historical Hampton records take extra care. Say whether the Hampton filing may predate electronic indexing and give an approximate year. Ask whether the volume still sits in the Hampton courthouse. Ask whether it has moved to an archive or is too fragile for routine copying. Searching a bound index takes a clerk longer than pulling a modern entry. Wait for office instructions before mailing cash or sensitive identification. For a Hampton chronology, request "Docket Entries." Name a signed Hampton order or pleading by its date and description. A public image can help you identify the item. But it is not Hampton clerk certification, and it may not show the whole Hampton file.
Hampton District Appeal Dockets
Arkansas law lets a Hampton lower-court decision move into the circuit process. The Hampton district record and the later Calhoun Circuit Court record are distinct pieces of one case history. Watch for a Hampton notice of appeal, record preparation, and transfer. Then watch for a new case number, later orders, and any mandate or remend. Keep both Hampton numbers. Ask the district clerk whether the lower record was sent over. Search ARCourts can make the Hampton circuit layer easier to find. CALHOUN CIRCUIT appears there as a public location. That portal view still does not replace certification. If a deadline or the scope of review matters, trust the Hampton court's order. Trust current rules too, rather than a short docket description. Hampton filing clerks identify records; legal advice must come from another qualified source.
